Afvoer ontstoppen
Loopt het water van uw spoelbak niet snel genoeg of zelfs helemaal niet weg dan is de kans groot dat u met een verstopte afvoer zit. U kunt natuurlijk opteren om uw afvoer te ontstoppen met behulp van een professioneel en chemisch ontstoppingsmiddel. Toch kunt u ook op een aantal andere manieren uw afvoer ontstoppen.
De ontstopper gebruiken
Een afvoer ontstoppen, kan vaak heel eenvoudig door het gebruik van een klassieke ontstopper die het vuil in uw sifon zal lostrekken. Brengt wat tape aan op het overloopgat van uw spoelbak en zorg voor een dun laagje water in uw spoelbak. Zet nu de ontstopper over het afloopgat en zorg dat de nappen van de ontstopper zich stevig vastzuigen. Maak nu enkele pompende bewegingen zodat de sifon onder druk komt te staan en de prop vuil kan losgerukt worden. Spoel nadien door met water.
De sifon bekijken
Vooraleer naar een ontstoppingsmiddel te grijpen, kunt u zich ook eens onder de spoelbak begeven om de sifon en aansluitende buizen te reinigen. Om onaangename geurtjes te vermijden zet u best even het raam open. Zorg ook voor een emmer onder de sifon omdat er waarschijnlijk ook wat water zal lekken. Schroef de sifon nu met de hand of met een tang los en verwijder alle vuil en water. Bekijk ook even de buizen die aangesloten zijn op de sifon en verwijder ook daar mogelijk vuil. Schroef alles terug vast en test of u de afvoer kon ontstoppen. Loopt het water nog steeds traag dan bevindt het probleem zich verderop in de leiding.
Met een ontstoppingsveer werken
Om de verdere leidingen van de afvoer te reinigen en zo de afvoer te ontstoppen, kunt u ook gebruik maken van een ontstoppingsveer. U schroeft hiervoor de sifon los en steekt de ontstoppingsveer in het gat van de afvoer. Met trekkende en duwende bewegingen van de ontstoppingsveer probeert u nu de buizen verderop vrij te maken. Steek de ontstoppingsveer zo diep mogelijk. Monteer alles netjes terug op zijn plaats en test door water in de spoelbak te laten lopen. Helpt ook het ontstoppingsveer niet dan kunt u best een chemisch ontstoppingsmiddel proberen of de hulp van een loodgieter inschakelen.
